STUDENT EXCHANGE IN AFRICA |
|
This is an opportunity for high school students aged 16
to 18 years old to experience South Africa’s many cultures
“from the inside” rather than as a tourist. We offer high
school programs either for 3 months, a semester (6 months) or
a whole school year.
Our students study at a
high school in Cape Town, be part of a South African family
and make friends in South Africa. It’s the perfect chance to
get to know a different reality, improve your English, learn
and grow up with YOU2AFRICA’s support |

| To guarantee our students are
properly prepared before they leave their home country, we
work through selected partners who focus on pre-trip
orientation and support of our students and their parents. Our
partners do an in-depth interview of each applicant to asses
their maturity and ability to adapt to a foreign culture,
before we will accept the application.
It is very important that the
family of the student understands exactly how YOU2AFRICA’s
student exchange program operates before the student leaves
home ground. |

| YOU2AFRICA and our partners provide
the necessary documentation to assist students in applying for
their student visas. Some of our partners assist with flights
and travel insurance as well. YOU2AFRICA interviews each host
family thoroughly, making sure they will be welcoming to a
young person who is far from home. Our families are generally
middle-income Cape Town families, from a wide spectrum of
different cultures – so each exchange student will have a
unique experience. We find that our students are very sad to
leave South Africa at the end of their stay, having
experienced a different way of life and having made friends
for life. |

| When you arrive, you will meet your
new family, and YOU2AFRICA will give you a 3day introduction
to life in South Africa, during which you can make friends
with other exchange students from other countries.
YOU2AFRICA will take you on
outings once a month, so that you can enjoy all the tourist
sites as well as some unique experiences like visiting a
township, hiking on Table Mountain and doing voluntary
work. |

| YOU2AFRICA also offers 6 day Safari which will include
seeing the Big 5 in the wild, as well as bungi jumping (if
you’re brave enough), and plenty of time to explore the
beautiful beaches along the Garden Route – it’s a trip of a
lifetime! |
